Bukashi bran is a medium (Hasaawi rice husk shells) with beneficial microorganisms (bacteria and fungi) developed in it, which work to convert moist kitchen waste containing a high nitrogen content that is difficult to handle with known composting methods, which require the carbon materials to be much higher than the nitrogen materials. The Bukashi composting technology is suitable for small residential places such as apartments because it is odorless and insect-proof. Although the decomposition is anaerobic, it is one of the most successful and best fertilizers for plants, providing quick results. The Bukashi compost product is a liquid solution used to water plants after dilution with water; and a compost with a solid consistency used as a soil additive to enrich it with natural organic nutrients NPK, characterized by its high content of beneficial microbes. One of the uses of Bukashi bran for making Bukashi fertilizer is adding it to the compost heap to accelerate ripening and eliminate bad odors, adding it to livestock, poultry, and bird pens, as well as sewage drainage to eliminate bad odors. It is also added as feed in animal and bird diets to improve digestion and increase meat tenderness and flavor.
